Que Shing Chinese Music and Opera Group
Que Shing Chinese Music and Opera Group, one of the oldest
Cantonese Opera organizations in Boston’s Chinatown, has
over 70 years of history. It was considered one of the seven
largest organizations in Boston. Over the years, Que Shing
has faced many difficult times. But it survived the hard
times and matured into a larger and stronger organization.
Its ideal is to promote the art form of traditional Chinese
music by bringing together professionals and amateurs who
are passionate about this art form to share their expertise
and explore ideas. As the organization’s membership increase
in number, singing and performance techniques improved.
Through the years, Que Shing has supported many community
charitable events though performances and donations. As the
saying goes, “Rome wasn’t built in a day”, today’s glorious
achievement is a tribute to the hard work and devotion of
all its members through history.
