President Wingkay Leung (Term: 2010- 2011)

Wingkay Leung grew up in Hong Kong.  His father was a freighter pilot for the US Air Force.  Because of his father’s work, he and his family moved to Japan when he was 13 and lived in an Air Force Base for 3 years before moving back to Hong Kong.  After graduating high school, he came to Cleveland, Ohio to attend college. It was at Case Western Reserve that he met his wife, Winnie Lui, who was most impressed by his motorcycle.  While pursuing Winnie, he also found time to complete a master degree in Business Administration and another in Computer Science.  Due to employment, he, Winnie, and their two sons relocated to Boston where they subsequently gave birth to a daughter.   He currently works for a tax preparation company.  His hobbies include playing computer games and collecting DVDs.  He watches a movie almost everyday.

Wingkay’s involvement with the Chinese community started in 1995 when he worked behind the scenes for the Que Shing Chinese Music and Opera Group.  He successfully applied for 501(c)3 status for Que Shing in 2001.   In 2004, he was elected to serve in the Chinatown Neighborhood Council.  He was an integral member of Chinatown Crime Watch when it was founded in 2005.  Mr. Leung was Que Shing’s organization delegate to the Board of Directors of CCBA when he was president of that organization from 2005 through 2006.  He was elected Treasurer to the CCBA Executive Board in 2008.  In the same year, he actively involved himself with the Chinatown Gateway Coalition.  He became president of CCBA in 2010.
