Philip Huang    I   Larry Young     I     Rick Wong   I     Levelin Chan  I   Simon Chan

Rick Wong has been a seasoned aircraft engine electrical system design engineer at GE for 37 years. For years, Rick brought his talents to various organizations and served them selflessly. At GE, he is the treasurer for the Asian Pacific American Forum (APAF), which promotes occupational growth and community service. In Chinatown, he is English Secretary and a member of the Asset Committee for the Wong Family Benevolent Association of Boston, leader of the Wong Family Youth Club, member of the Board of Directors of Chinatown Main Street where he has been involved in the organization of community festivals and street cleaning events. For CCBA, Rick was Auditor for the 2009 – 2010 administration, Treasurer for the 2010 – 2011 term, and currently, the President. His commitment to community service benefited not only the Chinatown community but also communities on the North Shore of Massachusetts where he resides. Since he has a passion for carpentry, he has been involved in numerous projects for Habitat for Humanity, and the Peabody Transition Home Project.

Larry Young emigrated from Hong Kong to America in the mid-70’s. He attended the University of Massachusetts – Amherst and earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He subsequently received his Master of Science degree from Northeastern University. He dedicated his career to engineering and construction with gratifying success. In the past thirty plus years, besides embarking in a successful career, Larry has been actively participating in the affairs of the Chinatown community. In 1998 and 1999, he served as the English secretary for CCBA. He is also the primary architect and elder statesman of the Gee Tuck Sam Tuck Association of Boston. Larry is sincere and personable with creative ideas. As the current Chinese Secretary, he will again combine all his personal experience and wisdom to serve CCBA in handling its daily operations to serve the Chinatown community. On a personal note, besides devoting his time to community service, Larry is a talented and accomplished fisherman. One can say that no fish, large or small, is safe in the water once Larry casts his line.

Simon Chan is originally from Honk Kong. He was a former ICAC officer and served as an anti-corruption investigator from 1975 to 1980. He immigrated to America in 1981. Currently, he works for the Massachusetts Department of Transportation in Boston. On the side, he is a federally qualified translator for the United States District Courts. He provides translations and interpretations for many major government sponsored events including Boston BRA meetings. Besides the above, he is also a small business consultant who had successfully advised a few Chinatown business entities on lease issues in past years. In the CCBA venue, Simon is an experienced CCBA officer who is currently serving his fourth term as the English Secretary. He is eager to work with all Directors to foster a consensus and promote harmony. He understands deeply the asset issues of CCBA and would relentlessly assist the Directors to protect and manage CCBA assets in the best possible way. He encourages all Board members to actively engage and participate in CCBA asset management decisions.

Philip Huang is the Treasurer for the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association of New England. Because of his position, he is dubbed the "God of Wealth." Levelin received her undergraduate degree from the Hong Kong Baptist University, and earned a certificate in accounting from the Boston University School of Business. Levelin has great concern for the well being of residents in the Chinatown community and hopes to have positive contributions to the work of CCBA from her own experiences and her love for the community.

This team has the right chemistry. We know how to work hard and how to have fun. We have very different personalities but we work well together. Our skills compliment each other. Where one falls short, another is always ready to lend a helping hand. Personality wise, Victor and Karen are liberals. Simon is a conservative. Rick stands on neutral ground and is the swing vote. Wingkay? He is still a mystery. Staff meetings are open forums where we discuss issues and at times, have heated arguments. At the end of the day, we always manage to come to some consensus and agree on a best course of action. But once in a blue moon, the boss will put his foot down and announce that he is the boss and make the final decision.

When you walk in the office you will always hear laughter. As a matter of facts, an observer once commented that we’re having too much fun in the office and that included the office staff. We enjoy each other’s company and working together.
